Ten Tensions Of Every Leader

Posted by Ron Edmondson on July 29, 2013

Being a leader isn’t easy. There are tensions with every decision a leader makes. I was thinking recently about some of those tensions.

1 - Displaying confidence without being arrogant.

2 - Being inclusive without simply accommodating.

3 - Making bold decisions while building collaboration.

4 - Showing strength while displaying compassion.

5 - Controlling energy towards a vision but allowing individuals to chart their path.

6 - Funding dreams and curtailing needless expenses.

7 - Celebrating victory while not resting on current success.

8 - Honoring history while pushing towards the future.

9 - Creating structure but allowing the freedom to create.

10 - Learning from other leaders but being who you were uniquely wired to be.
